So maybe you are interested in the Twitterfountain… Nice!
twitter updates are ok but no pictures from Flickr ???
First off, great app. I really like it. Only problem is im getting udpates and feeds from twitter fine but nothing from Flickr, is there a specific tagging convention i should be using?
Can you tell us what search term you are using? For example, when I fill in “flower” at the settings screen at http://www.twitterfountain.nl/get-a-twitterfountain/ , it shows me flickr pics of flowers.
Try searching flickr with the same search term and see what the result is. Also make sure the search result consists of public pictures that anyone can see. When you’re logged in to flickr you may have more permissions than the Twitterfountain has.
Hi, I think the Twitterfountain is very cool!! I’m going to use it in my website to pop up my Twitter updates and have tried a test. There’s one problem. I am using the Japanese language in my updates. You know, the Japanese characters consists of “Kana” and “Kanji”, the former of which is Japan origin and the latter of which is china origin. The problem is that all of “Kanji” characters are removed before an update appears on the Twitterfountain screen. I guess that the server that generates the Flash movie doesn’t have the “Kanji” character sets. I hope you support the full set of the Japanese characters very soon. Thanks. Toshi Tsubo
@Toshitsubo Thank you for your enthusiasm! We are aware of the limitations re. Japanese fonts in this version. Please use the Uservoice-tab to submit your feature-changes, zo other users can vote on them!
Hi Toshi, We’re actually experimenting with kanji support, the main issue is that it adds 1MB of filesize to the otherwise very lightweight application. Maybe there’s a way to make loading kanji optional. We’ll keep you posted!
Hi admin and eerk, Thank you for the replies. I hope you find a solution for the issue. I think it’s probable that the Twitterfountain be used widely and got popular here in Japan in the Internet connected events as well as on the blogs if it supports the Japanese fonts. Toshi Tsubo
Hi, is there a way to pull tweets from individual users instead of basing it on keywords? And if not is there any way I could get a copy of the source files to develope this idea?
@Keith Please add your request to the Uservoice-tab so other users can vote on it. As far as the source code goes: we’ll take that into consideration!
Hi,
Will you just tell me if you are going to support the Japanese Kanji fonts in the near future? Just want to know your plan. Thank you.
Toshi Tsubo
@Toshi Tsubo, that is up to our users. If they vote on it in the Uservoice-tab, it will get priority and we will address it. So get your friends to vote, and make it happen!
Hi Lykle, Thank you for the reply. I’m afraid it’s difficult to let the Japanese people know the wonderfullness of the Twitterfountain unless the kanji fonts are supported and difficlut to get many votes unless there are many Japanese who know about it. Maybe the kanji fonts support is a must for Japanese to evaluate any system. Toshi Tsubo
How hard do you think it is to add support where it displays twits from a specific user instead or on top of keywords? Having problems finding a service that does this beyond twitterverse which is often down and flotsam which is unstable.
Wondering if there is a way to hide the embed code, adjust settings button after it is embedded in a site? I don’t want others messing with the settings.
@Roxanne, currently: no. But every time a visitor reloads your page, they get your settings again. If you want to request these changes as new features, please submit them through the Feedback-tab!
I would like to use the application in Spanish, but I am having problems with some characters because in our language we use written accents. Any recommendation? Thanks (Gracias)
For now: not really. Please add your request to the Feedback-tab so other users can vote on it!
I’m having some difficulty resizing the widget. When I change the width and height it doesnt seem to save, any help would be much appreciated!
Great product!
hi there – could we change the font and other graphics? Would you be willing to customise the player?
Can you email me.
Many thanks Sermad
@sermad plese submit your suggestions through the feedback-tab, so other users can vote on them! A new version of TF is in the works, more customization is around the corner…
Not sure if this comment got to you earlier. Was using twitterfountain and let me say, “It’s very cool.” However, I can’t seem to get it to work on any social media platforms lke Myspace and Facebook. I edit the code, copy the code, and paste in my status updates on Facebook or in my profile on Myspace, and it shows the code or doesn’t work. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong or how to embed properly?
@Don, you are right to mention that cut and paste does not work properly. we hope to address that as soon as possible, but it might be a while. In the meantime, please add any bugs of feature requests throught the Feedback-tab so other users can vote on them!
Great App! But can you tell me at what rate the tweets and flickrphoto’s are refreshed. My fountain can’t find the photo’s I’ve uploaded and has trouble finding mytweets. Thanks!
Martin
@Martin: you can set the speed with which the fountain refreshes in the settings (klick on the adjust-button). Default is once per 180 seconds. Are your photo’s visible to the public in Flickr, or have you limited access to them? The fountain will only display public photos.
Thanks for your reaction, it seems the only tweets the fountain finds is from the account I posted it self and not from that tag in the tweet. I also set my Flickr photo’s as public. Strange.
I have embedded teh Twitterfountain in my homepage. After a small test (it works fine) I want to reset the current test messages. Is this possible?
@Roel Open up the source code of your webpage you have embedded the TF in. Locate the embedcode and replace the search items you used for the test with the new search items you want displayed. Then save. Done.
What are the costs of a twitterfountain?
@Jolien the embeddable version that you can copy from this site is free. Just cut and paste the code. If you want a special version, contact us via the contact form on this page (sorry, wasn’t working, is fixed now) and we’ll work something out!
Dear Twitterfountain, I am using the Twitterfountain a lot. But a lot of the times, i get the message ‘Twitter search has failed’. It there anything I can do about this? Thnx in advance
@Jasper Not on this end. If you have a way to provide Twitter with more funds or better software/hardware, be our guest
