The Twitterfountain does not show the Tweets that I expect
The Twitterfountain does not log in to Twitter, so it may not show the same Tweets as www.twitter.com does when you are logged in.
Some users protect their tweets, their tweets will not show up in the Twitterfountain.
To check the search results that Twitterfountain will receive, you must log out of twitter in your browser, and then go to http://search.twitter.com/. Type your search keyword there. These are the results that the Twitterfountain should also receive.
The Twitterfountain does not show the Flickr photos that I expect
Twitterfountain does not log in to Flickr, so it may not show photos that you can see from your personal flickr page. Some photos are not public or may not use the correct tags/titles.
To check the search results that the Twitterfountain will receive, first log out of the flickr homepage in your browser. Then type your search keyword in the search box on http://www.flickr.com/. This should display the results that the Twitterfountain receives.
I try to embed Twitterfountain in my WordPress blog, but it does not show up!
If you are using a wordpress.com-blog, we’re very sorry. Because of the security-settings on wordpress.com, our flash-file is stripped from its necessary tags and will not function. More here.
We have contacted the nice folks of WordPress about this issue, and they tell us: “The best recommendation we can make is that you release a plugin or widget that can be used for WordPress.org. If that becomes popular and is requested a lot for inclusion into WordPress.com, then we will consider it.”
So, that’s what we’ll do. As soon as our official plug-in/widget is available, it will turn up here and on the WordPress.org-site. You can find the offical plug-in here. Now you go and take it from there!
The tweets fly by too quickly/too slow
Try adjusting the settings of the Twitterfountain to find a speed that matches your preferences
I cannot read the tweets, the font is too small
Try adjusting the settings of the Twitterfountain to find a font size that matches your preferences
My background image doesn’t load
Check out the errors page to read more about background image errors.

Hi, I’ve set up a twitterfountain for the CroatiaTrophy 2011, and one of the competitors (robmieras) tweets are not showing up. His twitter account is public, but he doesn’t show up on twitterfountain at all, even with his own account. Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome! Thx, Victoria
You can check http://search.twitter.com/search?q=croatiatrophy to see if his tweets show up there. That is the exact same feed that drives TF. Of his tweets do not show up, they might be too old, or not have the right hashtag.
Dear people,
Why do images keep popping up every time even though i disabled them all ways i could think of? Using WordPress plugin and, when that didn’t work, went to your web site and took the code manually.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Judith
First off: the WordPress plugin (unfortunately) is not as up-to-date as we would like, so you were smart to turn to the site. Secondly: what do you mean with “all the ways I could think of? What is required is not entering any keyword in the Images-tab, setting image source to ‘no source’, and disabling the Twitpic toggle. Kan you direct us to an example of a misbehaving Twitterfountain?
Thanks for the swift answer! Problem solved
. It must have had something to do with cache or i may have overlooked something obvious.
The twitterfoundation doesn’t see to appear on when viewing from an iphone or ipad. Is that correct? Is it not built for “mac” viewing?
@Amir. Twitterfountain is a Flash-application. Flash is not supported on iOS devices like iPhone and iPad. Twitterfountain does work perfectly on any Mac, though
Is it possible to add more hashtags to one fountain? I need two!
@marike Yes, just add as many keywords as you like. Twitterfountain assumes that you want to see any tweet that contains any of the keywords (‘OR’). If you add ‘AND’ between two keywords, Twitterfountain will only show tweets that contain both keywords.
When I use the Twitter keyword spoorzone013 no Tweets show up on the Twitterfountain
Any other keyword does. What’s the problem?
@kristel: please try again. Twitterfountain can always be verified by trying the same keyword at search.twitter.com. In this case, multiple tweets show up with your keyword in both.
Hi,
Multiple keywords is not working.
I’ve tried several options, but it will only show the first keyword.
Tried:
fv_twitterkeyword=otcd%20OR%20opentext
fv_twitterkeyword=otcd%20opentext
Any suggestions?
Tx,
Roel
Hi
When you want to edit the source code you have to use the “+” sign.
When I use fv_twitterkeyword=rotterdam+amsterdam, I get tweets about Amsterdam and/or Rotterdam.
Let use know if this works for you!
My test tweets do not show op in the twitterfountain. Only on tweet does? What can be the problem. The were all send from the same smartphone
@Marina that is not much information to make a diagnosis. You can verify if Twitterfountain is running correctly by checking the results for your keyword at http://search.twitter.com. It should show you the same results. Otherwise, the keyword in one of your tweets might be mis-spelled?
Hi,
How random is the twitter fountain? I keep seeing the same two messages repeated over and over – considering we do one daily and I get retweeted often is there a way to increase the exposure to feature older/more messages as well?
Thanks.
@Catalin: the Fountain performs a new Twitter search every few minutes. You’ll always get the latest tweets first, so if you have 1 tweet a day you’ll often see the same tweets.
Could you try typing your search keyword here, and tell us if the result is any different from what you see in the Twitterfountain?

Is het mogelijk om op de achtergrond foto’s uit één bepaald flickr/picasa album te tonen?
is it possible to display only the images from 1 (one!) picasa or flickr album?
Is there a way to disable the “settings” options besides hiding it? I use an embedded fountain on my own website and I would like to prevent visitors to change the settings (altrough it’s only client based, I know.)
How to exclude keywords? In the twitter.com search you can add the – parameter, but when I use this in twitter fountain no tweets are shown. How come? And what to do to make exclusion work? Thanks.
[...] trucje kun je dus niet alleen toepassen op prezi’s maar op alle Flash-code. Helaas heeft Twitterfountain geen flash-code. Een site die wel Flash-code aanbiedt is de site widgetbox.com. Hiermee publiceer [...]
