20.Aug.2011 Location support added

Today we added support for location-based tweets. You can add a geo location in the ‘fountain settings’ menu and share your geo-fountain right away!

How does it work? First open the fountain settings menu:

location

Location settings

At the moment, you’ll have to manually enter  latitude and longitude coordinates for your desired location, and then enter the radius in kilometers.

There are several ways to find out the lat/lon coordinates of a place. Using google maps you can:

- Click ‘Link’ in the top right corner. The link will contain the coordinates:

Coordinates in Map Link

- You can also enable a cursor tip in Google maps that will always display the location of your mousecursor:

problem1: using location needs more explanation. Does it control tweets an/of pics?
Problem2: No tweets in area, no access to control-panel.

Geo location only controls tweets. We’re working on a new version with a much improved settings panel.
If you don’t receive any geo-tweets, you can always reload the page or just reopen the settings panel, did you encounter any problem with that?

A pity that the location variables cant be shared. The values you enter in the config pannel are not transported into parameters when you hit the sahre button.

What is the Idea behind this? Will this be possible in a new version or in a paid version or can I manually add those values? and If possible to add them manualy what wil be the correct syntax.

Excelent tool by the way pleas continue

Our locations settings are still in Beta. We’re working on a major update, which will include sharing location settings!
Currently there is no way to include location settings manually in the HTML code, I will look into this!

@Frans, when using the embed code you can add variables for geolocation (example):
    fv_lat = “51.925478″, fv_lon = “4.474139″, fv_radius = “5″;
